Through years of experience in the nightlife industry I understand the dynamic energy of nightclubs, and am dedicated to capturing this energy in the most creative and captivating way possible.

Photographing nightclubs and nightlife comes with its own sets of challenges unique to any other type of photography. Different nights, styles of music and venues all come with different set ups. Knowing and trusting my photography equipment helps me get the best possible nightlife photos from any genre.

I’ve been lucky enough to work as the in-house photographer at local nightclub venues in Hampshire such as Switch in Southampton. Working at Switch has given me opportunities to photograph some incredibly talented artists such as Sub Focus, Hybrid Minds, Hannah Wants, Wilkinson, Joel Corry, Jax Jones and Sigala.

As a nightlife photographer, I understand that every event is unique and has its own vibe. That’s why I work closely with my clients to ensure that I capture the essence of their event and the personality of their guests. My goal is to provide you with shots that truly reflect the spirit of your event and the people who were there.

Performers & Talent

Whether it’s a DJ, MC, singer, or dancer, I understand the importance of showcasing the talent and energy in my photos. With my experience in nightlife photography, I aim to capture performers in their best light, showcasing their skills and creating images that truly reflect the energy of the event.

I always keep in mind the usage of my photos such as whether they’ll be used for marketing and therefore may need to incorporate negative space for copy or for use on social media where they may need to fill the frame or allow for square cropping.

Overall, working with performers is a crucial aspect of nightlife photography, and I take great care to ensure that I capture their performances in the best possible way.

Clubgoers

Capturing the energy and excitement of the crowd and portraying it in photos can be a challenge in bars and clubs. When it comes to this, candid shots or posed shots can both be effective. By photographing people in the moment, I’m able to create authentic and natural images that truly reflect the atmosphere of the event.

Nightlife events often have unique and dynamic lighting, which can be both a challenge and an opportunity. I’m always working with different lighting, angles and backgrounds to create striking and captivating shots of the people at the event.

Atmosphere & Production

From the lighting and the lasers to the decor and special effects used in nightclubs, these are all an integral part of the atmosphere, and as a nightlife photographer, I’m always looking for the best way to capture them.

Each club has a distinct style and aesthetic to the look and design, and photography is a great way to showcase this. I’m always on the lookout for shots that capture the emotion and energy of the event, whether it’s a packed dance floor, a DJ dropping the beat, or a group of friends having a great time. By creating images that tell a story, I’m able to help clients market their bar or club and sell future events.

What locations do you cover for nightlife photography?

Based in Hampshire, UK, I specialize in capturing the energy and excitement of nightlife events and parties in the area. From Southampton to Basingstoke, Winchester to Portsmouth, I’m available to cover events throughout Hampshire and the surrounding areas.

Even further afield, no matter where your event is located, I’m willing to travel to ensure that you get the shots you need.

How soon can you deliver my photos?

Having worked as a nightlife photographer for a considerable amount of time, I am well aware of the necessity to upload images from a night quickly. Unless otherwise agreed, I will always endeavour to deliver my photos to my client the following day. Upon request it may be possible to arrange a selection of photos to be turned around on the same night.

Can you watermark the photos for us?

Yes, at the request of the client, I am able to resize and watermark my photos along with a branded cover page so that a full photo album from the night is ready for uploading to social media. This will need to be arranged beforehand with the relevant logo or watermark file being produced to me before the event.

Can you upload photos to our social media for us?

Yes, at the request of the client, if access is granted, I am able to upload images to social media accounts directly to your nightclub or bar’s social media pages. With time being so important this can benefit you and reduce the workload on other staff members.

Do you hold public liability insurance?

Yes, I hold fully comprehensive £5 million public liability insurance as well as professional indemnity cover. If I am managing a team of photographers who have been sourced by myself then I will always ensure that they are also covered.

What kind of equipment do you use?

I use the latest, professional equipment so that I can supply the highest quality photos from your club night event. My cameras, lenses and flashes are flagship models from Nikon which allow me to deliver great images even in the most challenging conditions.

What type of photos can I expect?

A typical night of nightclub photography will produce somewhere between 50 and 100 photos consisting of atmosphere shots of the venue, photos of any performers, as well as group and posed shots of clubbers. Any requests or key moments can be discussed.
